Best Practices

LCD presents numerous professional development and networking opportunities for individual attorneys and law students. For example, each year, LCD presents a best practice event on topics such as tips for successful mentoring across differences and innovations in creating more diverse and inclusive legal teams. 

Edwin Archer Randolph Diversity Awards

This award is named in memory of Edwin Archer Randolph, a Yale Law School graduate who was the first lawyer of color admitted to the Connecticut Bar in 1880. Through his service in various public offices, Mr. Randolph was instrumental in promoting the inclusion and advancement of lawyers and other professionals of color in Connecticut. In tribute to his legacy, this award honors an individual who promotes the inclusion and advancement of lawyers of color and other professionals.

Judges of Color

A signature LCD, George W. Crawford Black Bar Association, and Wiggin & Dana LLP event, Judges of Color is where we honor our CT Judges of Color, their many achievements, and the contributions they make to the integrity of our judicial system.

Attorney Networking Events

LCD highlights a diverse panel of attorneys who will share their varied experiences in the areas of civil litigation, corporate counsel, debt finance, federal prosecution, and state government.

General Counsel Roundtable

• Year 1: The Lawyers Collaborative for Diversity (LCD) and Finn Dixon & Herling LLP partnered to host a CT General Counsel’s Roundtable event where a panel of General Counsel discussed the “Best Practices and Challenges in Ensuring Diversity and Inclusion.”  
• Year 2: The Lawyers Collaborative for Diversity (LCD) and Finn Dixon & Herling LLP held their second annual CT General Counsel Roundtable on the Challenges and Best Practices in Creating and Maintaining a Diverse Legal Environment.
