About the Event

This award is named for Edwin Archer Randolph, a Yale Law School graduate, who was the first lawyer of color admitted to the Connecticut Bar in 1880.  Through his service in various public offices, Mr. Randolph was instrumental in promoting the inclusion and advancement of lawyers and other professionals of color in Connecticut. In tribute to his legacy, this award honors an individual who promotes inclusion and advancement of lawyers of color, women lawyers and other diverse individuals.  

There is no cost to attend this event.  We ask that you please rsvp.

The criteria for nomination is as follows:

  • Created opportunities for growth and/or advancement;
  • Set an example for others on how opportunities and possibilities can be createdwithin the legal community;
  • Through personal actions or an organization’s agenda, demonstrated acommitment to diversity within the legal community;
  • Worked to establish a culture that values the different perspectives brought tothe profession by lawyers of color, women lawyers and/or other diverse individuals;
  • Actions created recognizable and/or measurable achievements/progress (i.e,recruiting, retaining, and promoting).
